A resident of Hamden since 1958 is an Emeritus Professor of Art from Southern Connecticut State University. He was also Chairman of the Art Department.
He was a graduate Southern Connecticut State University in 1958 with a degree in Studio and Art Education. He received his Graduate Degree in Art Education at Columbia University. He continued graduate studies at the University of Bridgeport, CT and the International School for the Arts in Rome, Italy.
He was an Art teacher and Director of Art for the City of Ansonia Public School System, and was invited to join the faculty of Art at Southern Connecticut State University in 1965 and taught there until 1991. Tony specializes in life-sized sculptural bronze busts for commission. His works include William Gillette as Sherlock Holmes at Gillette Castle in Connecticut, Thorton Wilder at the Miller Memorial Library in Hamden, and many others respected dignitaries and historical figures in Connecticut and the United States. He operates the Bonadies Sculpture Studio in Hamden, Connecticut with his son Peter, who is also a sculptor and professor of art.
